Virginia (the state) hates me, but my people are here. So here I am

Visiting in Virginia at my sister's has been awesome. except for the allergies. VA truly does hate me. How many people get allergies in February... Seeing my sis and her family has been amazing. My almost-five-month-old nephew is going to be so big when I get back! I'm kinda sad that I'll miss his first few years. But i'm also going to be missing the terrible twos, and when I get back he'll be walking and talking, and out of diapers. Plus, he won't remember any of this part of his life anyway and i'd rather be around when he'll know me. (at least- these are the reasons that I keep telling myself when he laughs at me a grabs my heart and makes me not want to go...)

I'm leaving in a little while to head to W&M for a few days then to Norfolk so that I can see all of my favoritest people before I leave for KY (then for Kyrgyzstan)  YAY! :-D

I'm still trying to prepare as best I can for my next adventure with the PC.  It is a good thing I love Facebook! There is a K-17 group for all of us that will be leaving together! Awesome. It has been a lot of help already. I'm still sort of overwhelmed. A lot of my colleagues got their invitation in November, so they've been preparing and working on the language longer. I feel like i'm playing catch-up. There are so many things that I haven't thought of yet that there are discussion forums for on the Kyrgyz Republic Peace Corps group. I'm glad that I now know (in the facebook sense) at least a few of my fellow volunteers. I have this sinking suspicion that I am (once again) going to be the youngest in the group...

There is still SO much for me to do to get ready to go (today and for March 27th) so I'm gonna go get to it and see how it goes.

Love from VA,

Jess
